Water Sensitive Urban Design - Benefits and Ways to Them?
The National Water Commission defines water sensitive urban design as ensuring "…that urban water management is sensitive to natural hydrological and ecological cycles. It integrates urban planning with the management, protection and conservation of the urban water cycle". Our Inner West catchments are core development areas under the SEQ Regional Plan. Careful urban planning and smart management of our natural resource water are required to minimise the plan's impacts, to support healthy ecosystems and to accommodate lifestyles and livelihoods. Alan will give us a detailed insight into the potential and ways to its realisation. The SEQ Regional Plan will have an effect on all of us locally. This talk is highly relevant! Bring your friends and neighbours.
Our Join us! campaign will continue till our AGM. New members as well as their sponsors will go into the draw for two $100 vouchers to be used at I'pilly Shopping Centre. They were kindly provided by Land Lease Retail who manage the shopping centre. If you are not yet a financial member of CWCN, we look forward to welcoming you. We need your input and certainly are grateful for any financial support.
Our meetings are always open to everyone and are also social events to exchange information and ideas and to meet one another. Finger food and our usual refreshments are waiting for you. A gold coin donation is appreciated to offset the costs.
All AGM relevant information and forms are being sent to financial members separately.
See you all at the meeting!
