About us

Meadow Argus Butterfly

In 2001 a small group of Kenmore Anglican Church members became involved with bush care and started clearing the northern banks of Gubberley Creek at the bottom of our church property. Since then many exotic weeds have been replaced with native vegetation.

Our aim is to create a healthy and natural creek environment which improves the habitat for local flora and fauna.

We have always received tremendous support from The Men of the Trees. Without them our progress would not have been possible. They have been doing most of the weed removal and revegetation of the creek bank opposite the council land and are providing native plants obtained from Greening Australia’s Community Nursery. We look after the watering and try to keep the re-emerging weeds under control.

Come and join us. We would like to encourage residents living close to our bush care site as well as members of the Kenmore Anglican Church to volunteer for creek bank restoration. All help is welcome, whether with removing weeds or planting, mulching or watering. It could be on a regular basis or whenever possible.

Working Bees

Working Bees happen every four to six weeks. Due to the small numbers of our own group we link our activities with those of The Men of the Trees and depend on their time schedule. Contact us for dates and times.
