The Men of the Trees Society was founded in 1922 in Kenya by Dr Richard St Barbe Baker and his ideas of “healing the earth by planting trees” have since then been taken up in many countries with the aim to “stabilize the landscape, reduce extremes of temperature, provide a habitat for flora and fauna, provide timber and other products, and beautify the environment”.
Men and Women join hands under The Men of the Trees umbrella. They are active in Brisbane and happy to be involved with restoring the banks along Gubberley Creek below the Kenmore Anglican Church.
