Creek Seat Stories

Creek Seat

The Guardians of Little Gubberley (GOLG) are presently working on a grant called “Creek Seat Stories” received from Brisbane City Council to create an installation/exhibition that will tour BCC Libraries later this year or early next year.

At one of GOLG’s sites is a seat that was placed to enjoy the newly regenerated area at Wallawa Waterhole. The seat faces away from the road, and inwards to the bush setting. It is utilised by many passers by; children, workers having smoko, grandparents and lovers.

GOLG is going to interview and photograph several users of this seat – both the public and bushcare workers – to have a glimpse of what is special or important about this place.

The Creek Seat has many stories to tell.

Does anyone have some history about our creek that you'd like to share?

We would love to hear from you.
