21 October 2004 - ISS Planting at Moore Park

ISS planting at Moore ParkButterfly Talk at Arbor Day

The annual Arbor Day Event  saw again all Grade 5 students from Indooroopilly State School join activites in Moore Park. This year over 300 native larval host plants for local butterflies were planted, supported among others by display and  information talks. Much fun was had with water monitoring activities at Witton Creek.

16 Oct 2003 - ISS Planting at Moore Park

Over 100 hundred young students from Indooroopilly State School came to neighbouring Moore Park and planted  native  trees,  shrubs and groundcovers.  The event was a big success thanks to the excellent cooperation between our Bushcare Group, the teachers of Indooroopilly State School, supportive parents, Habitat Brisbane, and last but definitely not least the enthusiasm of the young bush carers. More than 200 plants found a new home. A sausage sizzle organised by parents was a deserved reward.

Serving the community was behind a morning a group of Brigidine College Students spent at Moore Park digging holes, planting native flora and mulching. The young ladies’ hands-on contribution during their Social Action Day was much appreciated by the Moore Park Bushcare Group.
