Site Problems

Singapore Daisy

This environmental weed has been one of our most difficult problems, as it thrives in moist creek conditions crowding out all other vegetation. One section of Singapore Daisy which was above knee deep was able to be poisoned, however, the remainder had to be cleared by hand as there were native plants in the area to be protected. Approx. two trailer loads were taken off site.

Brush Turkeys

Last year we had to abandon an area of our site to the activities of the resident Brush Turkey as he scraped up every vestige of leaf litter on the eastern bank of the creek and took it through the creek (which was dry at the time and had in fact been dry for more than five months) to make his huge mound on the edge of the western bank.
