Why these beautiful fungi derive their name from corals needs no explanation.

Coral fungi have no gills or pores. Their spores are produced on the surface of their branches or clubs.

Queensland mycologists Dr Tony Young and Nigel Fechner of the Qld Herbarium have received an ABRS grant to research the coralloid genus Ramaria.
